If you have realized that your dog has a tick attached to them, there are a number of steps that you need to take in order to get rid of the tick and the eggs in your home. Ticks are a serious problem and need to be killed as quickly as possible. The longer the ticks are in your home, the more time they’ll have had to lay eggs in different places in your home.

One of the first things that you must understand is how the ticks will affect your pet and your family. Ticks are a small parasite that sucks blood from the body of its host. The first thing that the tick will do is stick its head into your skin and begin sucking your blood. This sounds violent, but it’s the way they feed off of you. The more blood the tick sucks from your dog the larger its body will become until it is ready to lay eggs. The tick usually uses the fur or hair of the host to lay its eggs in.

Although it may seem like a simple process, removing the ticks from your home can be difficult because of the eggs it lays. Once you have found the tick on your pet, you need to pull the tick out of your pet. You need to be careful so the tick doesn’t burst and leave its head in your dog permanently. By pulling the tick out, you will ensure that no more eggs are laid on your furniture, bed, or clothing.

Once you have gotten rid of the tick, you need to begin the cleaning process before the eggs hatch. Every place, in your home, that your dog has laid needs to be washed and cleaned thoroughly. Most pet stores, as well as some grocery stores, offer medicated sprays that you can use for furniture to kill the eggs. There are also shampoos available to take away any eggs that may be left on your dog. If your dog spends a lot of time outside, you should cut your grass and keep it short to get rid of any living ticks.

Although it seems like a complicated process, getting rid of the ticks will ensure that your dog continues to be healthy and energetic. You should contact your local Miami Vet Clinic if you have are having trouble removing a tick, and they will help you in getting rid of the tick.
